ISTE Scratch

I wanted to learn more about his program because we have it in our Canyons Elementary School labs. This is an MIT project where students "learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively."

Scratch allows you to make your own interactive games, stories, music and art and SHARE them with one another. You can also remix shared projects. Check out the gallery Characters are called "sprites" and tools are very simple. Watch video tutorials. I appreciated that projects with lower grades were possible. Resources for teachers are here: ScratchEd and support to get students started.

Teachers and students can create free online accounts for collaboration and sharing, or just save projects to their school server. Online accounts allow students to remix their projects and interact with students around the world, a real bonus of this site!
