Google gives their employees 20% of their time to work on projects and passions. Google Lit Trips is one of these projects. WOW! At the ISTE 2010 Google booth we were introduced to Google Lit Trips.
This is a great curriculum combination of literature and geography using Google Earth. Basically, you take a book with geographical movement and track it on Google Earth adding the story along the way. Excellent resources for teachers, Lit Trips for many grade levels and many beloved books are already built for you. Examples: Walk Two Moons. Just select your grade level at the top of the site and and download the .kmz file.
Tip: BE SURE TO INCLUDE the .kmz extension in your file name so that Google Earth will open it. Also, download your files before you need them. They are big files and will take some time and hog some space.

Just an observation: As I explored the site and viewed different pages, the URL did not change (http://www.googlelittrips.org/). How did they do that?
