Entire District moved to Promethean who bought out the Smartboards in entire district and started installing Prometean. (Provo is Mac based) They have installed 522 boards only 5 boards have gone bad. Have certified installers in their district. Saves $500 per board. Installed 73 boards since school started.
Pros: Harder surface - can't hurt it!
Tech support out of Georgia - prompt -parts 10days to 2 weeks.
Must use pen - keep magnetic tips on hand - does not respond to finger touch

Parents were invited to see the board in action = parents donated $$
Teacher 5th/6th taught 30 years/resistant - parents donated money - energized by possibilities - very little learning curve - used it immediately - not gradual - engages students tremendously. Comparable to receiving 1st laptop! Time savings amazing.
District provides once per month training - with assignment - share lessons created on school server.
Promethean has made great progress in the Mac application area - some differences.
